If you are passionate about traveling, staying healthy and fit can be a challenge. After you book your next trip, consider these 5 tips to stay healthy and fit while traveling:
1. Pack Healthy Snacks
Bring snacks such as popcorn, nutrition bars, sliced fruit and chopped vegetables. If you are staying at a resort for some extended period opt for buying food such as whole wheat pasta and soups. If traveling abroad, use the opportunity to mingle with the locals and buy the organic food they produce.

2. Drink Alcohol Moderately
Drinking one too many may be fun sometimes, but in the long run you could ruin your entire trip by not feeling well. Be moderate when it comes to alcohol consumption and, if possible, opt for organic wine or lower-sugar spirits, like Gin with lime juice.
Remember, alcohol dehydrates your body so think twice before indulging in your favorite cocktail. If you are calorie conscious, as wine is rich in calories, opt for different types of beer to keep you fresh and cheerful. If traveling abroad, try domestic beers to see what the locals prefer.
3. Be Active
You don’t have to give up exercising while traveling. Use the time to go everywhere on foot. Explore the picturesque new sights by walking and take up some new activities such as surfing, stand up paddle boarding and scuba diving. These activities will be interesting and will help you stay fit and energized. Plus, you’ll tone your muscles and improve your posture.
Start the day early and fresh by practicing yoga. Download yoga podcasts before going on a trip and spend each morning with a wake up routine. If traveling abroad, try a traditional dance class.

4. Water Is A Must
Exploring new places means being constantly on the go and sun exposure can leave you dehydrated. It’s important to stay hydrated and drink at least 8 cups of water per day (this can vary for each individual). Carry a bottle of water with you at all times.
5. Traveling Abroad? Learn Something New & Try the Local Flavor
Make the most of the time you are in a distant place by enrolling in some new activities. Try cooking classes. They will help you get the flavor of the local culture while you embrace some healthy habits. Seek out local, organically grown produce and get introduced to some new spices and herbs.
